Passive house windows
Forms of insulation glazing have been standard for some time now, and have clear advantages over conventional glazing with regard to general building insulation, and energy and cost savings. However, the low insulating value of the frame has been a weak point in building insulation. The development of passive house windows has meant that, for the first time, the excellent insulating properties of insulation glazing can be carried over onto the construction of the frame. Today, when you look at a passive house window from the outside, there is no visible difference to conventional windows. However, hidden from sight on the inside of the frame is an insulating core, giving the window its excellent insulating properties.
